An incredible new 'Incubator' for local artists and creators in Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut opened its doors to the public for the first time yesterday, want to peek in?

Market Street Creatives is now open for business in downtown Torrington at 100 Lawton Street, it's located right off of S. Main St. in a massive brick building that used to be part of the Turner & Seymore Manufacturing Company in Torrington. The former factory has been transformed into an extremely organized hub for artists, artisans, creators, and chefs to to sell their handmade gifts, crafts, and concoctions.

It's a massive facility, I spoke with the owner/operator Erick and his partner to get a sense of what they've brought to life. As of opening day yesterday Market Street Creatives has 92 vendors, but the place is still being built, and they hope to have over 200 vendors by August. Each vendor does pay a space rental fee, but Market Street Creatives do not take commissions, vendors keep 100% of what they sell.

My wife and I walked through around 3PM and found over 50-75 folks wandering through, and I saw that most left with something. Many of the vendor booths weren't staffed, but there were a few around to answer any question.
