That's exactly what Newington Police are asking, and unfortunately investigating this morning after that exact sequence of events occurred in their town last week. According to nbcconnecticut.com, Newington Police received an alarm signal from the Citgo gas station at 502 Cedar Street at 1:48 AM last Wednesday, January 5, 2022. When investigators got hold of the store's surveillance video, they observed a light colored Ford Freestyle repeatedly backing up and smashing into the store's doors. Once the doors broke, officers allege that the driver got out of the vehicle, walked into the store, grabbed a banana, peeled it, ate it, and then hopped back into the damaged Freestyle, and took off.

The suspect didn't try to conceal his identity with a mask, and didn't take anything else, just the banana.
