Community Rallies After New Canaan Student Tragically Dies in Hockey Accident
Hundreds of #sticksoutforTeddy tweets and retweets have inundated the tweetosphere in honor of the high school 10th grader, Teddy Balkind of the St. Luke's varsity hockey team in New Canaan.
Teddy lost his life in a tragic accident when he and another player collided during a game between St. Luke's and Brunswick.
Students and their families gathered together outside of St. Luke's School on Friday evening to show their respect and mourn the loss of Teddy Balkind. After the tragic accident made national news, a hashtag is circulating around social media to honor Teddy.
As the community mourns the tragic loss, many are honoring his memory by posting #SticksOutForTeddy.
I betcha Teddy's already got the pads on up in hockey heaven passing around the puck with Gordie Howe and getting tips from Coach Herb Brooks. Rest in Peace and may we never forget, Teddy Balkind.
