Lonely? Ask ‘How are the Roads’ on Social Media in Connecticut
Feeling good about yourself but need to be taken down a notch? Ask 'How are the roads' on social media during a snowstorm in Connecticut and get ready.
We're in the midst of the snow and ice season of the Winter of 2025, Connecticut has received three dustings up to 2-3 inches of snow every other day for the past week. We live in one of the wealthiest states in the country, and our municipal and state snow removal crews are out there busting their backs to move every flake of snow off of pavement it lands on. The easiest way to have your feelings crushed during these snow and ice storms is innocently asking about the current road conditions.
The hillier towns of Connecticut are where the true savagery comes out, ask how the roads are in Waterbury Talks, or New Milford, and you'll be brutalized within seconds. I get it, the true local traffic reporters of Connecticut's past are gone, we don't have Mike Allan flying Air One over Hartford anymore, and our local tv stations have access to the Connecticut Department of Transportation traffic cameras. Haven't you downloaded Waze yet? No? Well, I guess you're the one that needs to know how bad it is before you head out.

Before you even ask, unless the snowfall is over that magical inch an hour rate, every single highway in Connecticut will be passable. The backroads will be sketchy, and bridges will be iced over. Other than that, the roads are fine, get out there.
