The energy surrounding New York right now is quite electric.

This city is different (as we all know), so when the excitement picks up like it is now, there's an even better feeling to it. I'm the first person to say I'm not a fan of New York City in itself just because there are way too many people, it's too crowded and it's dirty. But that's besides the point. One thing I am very happy about is being a New York sports fan.

I read a tweet this morning that said something along the lines of the air in New York feeling different (in a good way) due to the excitement surrounding New York sports and where we are right now. I'm unfortunately not going to group the New York Giants into this because well, if you're a fan, you understand.

But other than that, it's no news that the New York Mets are advancing in the playoffs as well as the Yankees, but you have a new season of sports entering into the mix as well. Baseball overlapping with hockey and basketball is crazy to think about, but we are lucky we got here.

It's going to be an exciting weekend for New York sports fans. The New York Rangers have their first home game of the season at Madison Square Garden this Saturday, October 12. The Mets will have Game 1 of the Championship Series on Sunday, October 13. The New York Knicks will have a home preseason game at the Garden on Sunday, October 13. The Yankees have game 1 of their Championship Series on Monday, October 14. And also, the Giants are even playing at home this Sunday.

There is so much to do and so much to see this weekend if you're a New York sports fan. If you can make a trip into the city to experience it, I highly recommend it. It's going to be a good one.
