According to LoHud, authorities are continuing their investigation into a dramatic police pursuit that ended in a fiery crash on April 29, 2025, in Goldens Bridge, NY. A vehicle fleeing law enforcement lost control and slammed into a ramp barrier connecting northbound Interstate 684 to Route 22, igniting into flames shortly after impact.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, where one passenger was taken into custody. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled on foot.

Locals are bound to have plenty of questions after encountering the chaotic scene and heavy police presence on Tuesday (4/29/25). One of those locals was I-95 Morning Show friend and contributor, known only as “Southern Rock Joe,” who sent me this video capturing the wild moment as it unfolded.

Southern Rock Joe added:

“My wife said it’s all over her I-684 Facebook groups—just everywhere—holy crap. Some of my guys were caught in the traffic, too. If I get anything useful from them, I’ll pass it along. There were at least 50 cop cars lining Goldens Bridge, stretching all the way down to Route 35 along the train tracks—just wild. What did this guy even do? Looks like they pulled a full-on Dukes of Hazzard move off the Goldens Bridge exit and ended up catching fire. Have fun in prison!”

As Southern Rock Joe mentioned, the local Facebook groups were lighting up like a Christmas tree. One man named Andrew S. posted this to the 684 Commuters page:

"Did anyone just witness a guy run across northbound and southbound lanes?"

According to an additional report from the Daily Voice, the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken into custody at the scene, and authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.

What did Dignam say? "My people are out there...

"You not gonna see em, you're not gonna hear about em' except from me and Captain Queenan (Ethan)."

Vacant Putnam Lake Properties

Putnam Lake is a Hamlet of the Town of Patterson In Putnam County, NY. Originally, the community was a vacation getaway for city folks who wanted Lake property in the country. Today, it’s not any kind of weekend or destination getaway but a great place to live, I would know, I grew up there. Like any small town, Putnam Lake, NY has its setbacks. It’s difficult to open any business and even harder to keep the doors open. These are some of the long vacant commercial properties of “The Lake.”
