The Home of Rock 'N' Roll has partnered up with American Senior Magazine to give a nod of recognition to local seniors who've done their part in making the Greater Danbury such an incredible place to live.

This week, we give a giant shout-out to Rona Rothhouse, a wonderful teacher from Bethel. Rona was nominated by her long time friend and fellow teacher, Pam Chapman. Here's what Pam, Rona's friend for over 40 years, had to say:

In all the 40 years I've known Rona, she's always been involved in several activities that support our community. She's a past president of the Women's Center and is currently an officer of the Retired Teacher's Association in Danbury. She's served on many boards and is a true activist at heart. While she's retired from teaching in the Bethel Public Schools, she currently teaches at a CT  community college helping struggling gain entrance into college level classes. For those students, she is more than just a teacher, she empowers them to believe in themselves and to exceed their own expectations.

Thank you, Rona, for doing everything you've done to shape the future of our community.

Each week, we'll continue to highlight a Greater Danbury senior who simply makes this wonderful area a better place to live. The featured senior will receive a $50 gift card to use at an area mall and a one year subscription to American Senior Magazine. Is there a senior in your life who deserves some well-earned recognition?
It could be a grandfather, aunt, friend, or even your mom. It's easy, just fill out the form below. We'll be accepting submissions between 8/21/17 and 11/21/17.
