Do you remember eating the fried clams at Howard Johnson's? That's where my love for Atlantic surf clams began. My father was the first brave soul that I ever saw eat a raw clam out of it's shell, and Kittery, Maine was the first place that I ever tried a fried 'Piss clam'.
