According to KSNT/WIBW, a group of Kansas high school students may have just delivered the greatest prom entrance of all time.

Some kids from Seaman High School reportedly spotted the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile while hanging out at Sonic ahead of prom weekend. Naturally, because they are young and still full of hope, they asked the driver if there was any chance they could roll up to prom in the giant hot dog car.

Instead of laughing them out of the parking lot, the driver checked the schedule and said yes.

That’s right. These kids allegedly got permission to arrive at prom in the Wienermobile, one of the most iconic vehicles in America. Even better, Oscar Mayer reportedly approved it for free. No rental fee, no nonsense, just pure processed-meat magic.

And honestly? Good for them.

This is what prom should be about. Fun, ridiculous memories, doing something that makes everyone laugh, and creating a story you’ll tell for the rest of your life. Nobody remembers who arrived in a leased BMW. Everyone remembers the kids who showed up in a 27-foot rolling frankfurter.

Now let’s bring this story home to Connecticut.

Would Connecticut kids be allowed to pull this off here in the Nutmeg State? Absolutely not.

You’d have one off-the-rails, unchecked Karen firing off a strongly worded email before the first kid even climbed in. Then there would be emergency meetings, public outrage, people holding rallies with bullhorns, three local Facebook groups melting down, and someone demanding a full investigation into hot dog safety standards.

By sunrise, the students would be grounded, the Wienermobile would be banned from town limits, and somebody would be on TV saying, “This is not who we are.”

Meanwhile, Kansas is out there living life.

Sometimes I think Connecticut forgets how to have fun. If a bunch of kids want to show up to prom in a giant hot dog, you let them do it, you take photos, and you move on with your day.

For once, I’d love to see Connecticut choose joy over paperwork.
