Gun, Axe and Machete Allegedly Found After Connecticut Highway Chase
According to a release from the Connecticut State Police, a New Hampshire woman was arrested late Friday night after police say she was involved in a hit-and-run and led officers on a pursuit up Interstate 95 before finally being stopped in Connecticut.

State Police said the incident began just before midnight on April 17, when Troop G received word about a gray Toyota RAV4 with New Hampshire plates that had reportedly been involved in a hit-and-run in Stamford. According to police, Stamford officers had been pursuing the vehicle northbound on I-95 before ending their chase near Exit 13.
Troopers later located the SUV near Exit 18 and attempted to stop it, but police say the driver kept going. Authorities eventually used a maneuver to box in the vehicle and bring it to a stop farther north near Exit 26.
Police identified the driver as 26-year-old Amy G. Palchevski of Goffstown, New Hampshire. She was taken into custody without reported injuries.
During the investigation, State Police said they allegedly found multiple weapons inside the vehicle, including a firearm, a tomahawk-style axe, and a black machete with a 12-inch blade. Authorities then filed a lengthy list of charges tied to the pursuit, alleged weapons violations, reckless driving, interfering with police, and other motor vehicle offenses.
Among the reported charges were disobeying an officer’s signal, reckless driving, failure to insure a vehicle, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
Police said bond was set at $100,000 cash, and she was later transferred to York Correctional Institution. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
