Danbury High School’s head wrestling coach, Ricky Shook, will be inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

According to danbury.dailyvoice.comShook, a former Wrestler and graduate of DHS, will be honored in September during halftime at a University of Connecticut football game.

Shook has spent 27 years coaching the Hatters since he became an assistant coach, and eventually became head coach in 2000.

This year, the Hatters wresting team completed another unbeaten season with an 18-0 record, and won its unprecedented 29th FCIAC title in 30 years.

Once again, congratulations to Coach Shook, who is no stranger to Hall of Fame awards. He was named to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame by the Connecticut chapter in 2013 for his performances as a wrestler for Central Connecticut State University. He was named to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame by the Connecticut chapter in 2013.
