Another Danbury store has closed its doors for good. After over 95 years in the area, Klaff's, the home design retailer, has closed its showroom at 11 Newtown Road.

Seems like every week we're hearing about another store closing for good. This time, Klaff's showroom has closed on Newtown Road, however their retail locations in South Norwalk and Scarsdale, NY, will remain open.

Here's the message from the Klaff's website telling their customers what's happening with the Danbury store.

After serving over 90 years in Danbury we have closed this location with plans to reopen temporarily for a clearance sale later this spring. Customers with questions about existing orders may contact our South Norwalk showroom at 203-866-1603 for support.

Klaff's has been serving the Danbury community since it was founded back in 1921. Klaff's Chairman Joe Passero told the newstimes.com the reason for the store closing:

The Danbury store used to perform well, but has dropped off in recent years.

Klaff’s says it's possible that they might converting the Danbury location into something different, perhaps an outlet center and/or corporate offices, but, for now, the store remains closed, as it prepares for a clearance sale. Dates for the sale haven't been announced.
