At our core, humans are driven by one simple instinct: survival. We’re wired to focus on making it through to the next day, whether it’s securing our financial well-being or protecting the dreams that keep us going.

This instinct barrels over and through borders—everyone, is tied together by the same drive to endure.

Connecticut residents are no exception, though the challenges we face in the Nutmeg State come with their own unique set of demands. With that in mind, what exactly should a Connecticut Survival Pack include to help navigate our home.

BTW: I'm pretty good at this writing s---.

What Would a Connecticut Survival Pack Include?

Connecticut should come with a user's manual and possibly a survival pack. What would you need in that pack? I've been thinking about it, let's see if you agree.

If you’ve arrived here wondering about survival packs for the Connecticut wilderness, don’t worry—I’ve gathered that information for you as well. According to Outdoor Moran, here’s what you'll need to survive in the wild:

  • Water and food

  • Blanket

  • Tent

  • Firestarter

  • Multi-tool

  • Saber card

  • Tactical flashlight

  • First aid kit

  • Tactical knife

  • Map and compass

  • Survival tools such as pliers, a whistle, wire saws, paracord, and more

  • Communication device

The sad part is, even if I had all of those things and was stuck in the wilds of CT, I still wouldn't know what to do. I'd be blowing that whistle like you read about. Nothing sadder than seeing a grown man sitting in the dirt blowing a whistle for help.

Greater Danbury's 13 Most Amusing Photos Captured by the Google Car

Google Instant Street View is easily my favorite free application. You can take a digital cruise through the streets of Milan Italy, a drive down the PCH in California or tool around your local area without leaving your office chair. But the best use of Instant Street View is to catch unbeknownst moments. If you look long enough, hard enough, you will find some really funny things. I've spent years combing through the Greater-Danbury area Google footage and these are some of my favorite snaps.

Connecticut’s Gruesome Legend: New Haven Woman Buried Alive

What’s your biggest fear? Take a moment to think about it. If you said heights, spiders, sharks, or small enclosed spaces, you're probably like most people—fairly normal. But I promise you, there’s something worse than all of them combined. To tap into this nightmare, you’d need a pretty dark and active imagination. How about being buried alive? What if I told you this actually happened to someone right here in Connecticut? Meet Midnight Mary—this is her story.
