According to a nationwide study published by Zippia, CT ranked #46 in America for states that consume the most fast food.

The only states that eat less than fast food than the Nutmeg State are:

Mississippi
New York
New Jersey
Vermont

Vermont has the least fast food joints per capita in the United States. The opposite side of the coin displays that this is mainly a regional discussion. The states with the most fast food restaurants per capita are:

Alabama
Nebraska
West Virginia
Oklahoma
Tennessee

Alabama actually has 6.3 fast food restaurants for every 10,000 people.

The study also revealed that 80% of Americans eat some type of fast food once a month. That is a national average, and seeing as CT has a low number of fast food locations, our state number is no doubt lower. If we did have more, it would stand to reason we would eat more fast food.

We, of course know the downside to fast food production and consumption but there is a silver lining, as it pertains to American jobs. Fast food restaurants employ 4,593,559 in America.

I tell you what studies I'd like to see done by Zippia. Which state in America has the highest concentration of liquor stores or "packys?" Which state in the U.S. has the most Dunkin' Donuts locations? Which American State has the most barbershops?

I'm confident in saying we'd be #1 in all of those categories. OK, maybe #2 in Dunkin, #3 in Liquor but no question #1 in barbershops.
