Is Connecticut One of the Most Expensive States? You Bet — But It’s Not #1
What States are More Expensive Than Connecticut?
According to research conducted by MSN, Connecticut isn't the most expensive state to live in — but we're definitely flirting with the top of the list.

MSN crunched the numbers and ranked all 50 states (plus D.C.) based on cost of living, and the results aren’t too surprising. Hawaii takes the crown, with prices nearly double the national average. Massachusetts, D.C., California, and New York round out the top five, all powered by housing costs that would make your mortgage cry.
And then there’s us - Connecticut — sitting at lucky number 13 on the list of the most expensive places to live. Not top five, but close enough that our grocery bills feel personally offensive. For contrast, Mississippi is the cheapest state in the country.

So yeah… we pay more to eat, live, stay healthy, drive around, and keep the lights on. Connecticut: where even your expenses have expenses.
I’m not disputing these figures — I’m just really trying to imagine that it’s even possible that anywhere could be more expensive than Connecticut. The fact that I still live here is no accident. It’s taken hard work and a lot of creativity to pull this off. I’m not a wealthy man, so my wife and I have to work as a team to make financial miracles happen every month.
What would we have to do if we lived in Hawaii (the #1 most expensive)? Sell blood? Sell other fluids? Run a 24-hour OnlyFans livestream from our shed?
True story: The other day on the I-95 Morning Show, we were talking about how there are rumors floating around social media claiming there’s a real black market for testicles in the U.S. The first wave of TikToks said each testicle could go for over a million dollars. After some quick research, I learned that maybe a black market exists — but if it does, the going rate is more like $20–40k per nut.
Anyway, my wife Erica saw that original million-dollar rumor and could not alert me fast enough. She sent me the TikTok, and I think I replied with a casual “LOL.” She shot right back: “I’m not joking.” I said, “You really think I’d sell one of my testicles?” She said, “You should want to do it for your family.”

I’m certain she wasn’t kidding so I've been sleeping at work ever since.
Yeah... this is my life in the nutty Nutmeg State.
P.S. If the going rate was REALLY $1 million per, I'd perform the surgery myself but 30k doesn't even buy a new car in 2025.
