Two Full-Sized Christmas Trees in One Home? You’re Not Alone
According to YouGov, America is apparently full of people who need more than one Christmas tree to survive the holiday season. A new poll says 14% of Americans — roughly one in seven — will have at least two Christmas trees in their home this year. And yes, that includes the little tabletop trees people stick on dressers or counters… but in my house, it was two full-sized trees, and that’s a whole different level.
I didn’t realize this was such a national trend, but I grew up in one of these homes, so maybe I should’ve seen it coming. My mom eventually gave up trying to unify the family on holiday decorations.

The Great Christmas Light War had gone on long enough. My mom and I were firmly in the “classy white lights” camp — elegant, warm, the kind of lights that look like they belong in a Norman Rockwell painting.
The rest of my family? Absolute trash pandas. They wanted loud, chaotic, colored lights. Lights so bright and mismatched it looked like mutant street urchins had broken into the house and decorated while hopped up on meth. After years of fighting this battle, my mother made the only sane decision: two full-sized trees. One for us… and one for the clown show crew.

Back to the poll: 71% of Americans say they’re putting up a tree this year, and 20% of those won’t stop at just one. About 2% of people even admit they’ll have more than three trees. At that point you’re basically living in a winter-themed Bass Pro Shop, but hey — do what you gotta do to feel festive.
Whether it’s one tree, two trees, or a whole indoor forest, at least now I know my family wasn’t the only one running multiple battlegrounds of Christmas spirit.
