I started my career in radio in 1991, this is my 34th year of telling you the weather, which Led Zeppelin song I just played, and which roadway is closed by a multi-car accident, I've loved every minute.

Although I've been working in this industry for most of my life, I'm still a fan. Working in radio is pretty much as fun as you've seen it depicted in movies and tv shows. I've been lucky to work at radio stations in New Haven, Norwalk, Hartford, and now in Danbury for the last 19 years.

How Has the Industry Changed During the 34 Years I've Been Doing This?

When I started in 1991, most of the radio stations in Connecticut were privately owned, but that drastically changed in the mid 1990's. Now in 2025, there are only a handful of independent, or community stations left. We used to play records, cd's, and carts for our commercial inventory, but now every piece of audio originates from a hard drive. The legendary personalities in our major markets that I remember from my early career are mostly all gone, some have passed, while others were replaced.

Syndication ramped up in the early 2000's as Sirius and streaming services tried to take away listeners of terrestrial radio, but commercial radio is still free in 2025, and while you may not have control of the playlist at your local station, your voice is still heard.

What have I enjoyed the most out of this career? Giving away experiences, concert tickets, motorcycles, vehicles, and services to people that really need or want. Another thing that I love doing now is expressing myself in these articles that we write, I never expected to not use my voice to inform, but it's been wonderful to speak freely with my fingers on a keyboard instead. Thank you for all of the messages and posts on National Radio Day 2025, we do it all for you.

Three of the Loudest Concerts I Ever Got to See in Connecticut

After 33 years of working at various radio stations around Connecticut, I've been lucy enough to see hundreds of live performances. A friend recently asked what were the loudest concerts that I remember going to. I came up with three that truly blew my ear drums away.
