BPD will host their annual toy drive on Saturday, December 17 from 10 AM - 4 PM. If you're willing to help, please drop off you new and unwrapped toys to 84 Federal Road in Brookfield. The BPD will also accept cash donations in lieu of a gift.

All of the toys and the money will be donated to the Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. The Department shared the following on their Facebook page on December 4, 2022:

"We are excited to announce our 8th annual toy drive will be held on December 17th (10am-4pm).
The toy drive will be at the same location, #84 Federal Road in Brookfield, the parking lot of Five Guys and Kohl's (you wont miss our banner!)

As always, the donated toys will be personally delivered to the children at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital the following week by UPS trucks escorted by Brookfield Police Officers!

New to this year, Rock Hill Farm will be attending with a horse drawn sleigh for a photo opportunity and of course Santa will be stopping by too!!

There will be free coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks.

We will be there...RAIN, SNOW, or SHINE and we hope you will be too!"

If you're not able to attend the Toy Drive, in-person that day, BPD says you can still donate by dropping your gift off at the Police Headquarters at 63 Silvermine Road in Brookfield.

Which Greater-Danbury Town Would be the Best Setting for a Christmas Movie?

Let's make a movie! Even better, let's make a Christmas movie in our area. I've always thought the Greater-Danbury towns would make great settings for holiday films. Our history and architecture lends itself to creating a believable, small-town America vibe. Below are the reasons, I think each town would be good for a Christmas movie, and a potential film we could shoot here.

Camping for Cans 2022

Camping for Cans is an annual event thrown by I-95 to collect cash and non-perishable food items to benefit the Hillside Foot Outreach. Hillside feeds those in-need, in the Greater-Danbury area. Each year we gather in a Brookfield parking lot and have fun in the name of the Greater good. The 2022 CFC was as good a year as we've ever had, take a look.
