The Brookfield Police Department is looking for information that may help identify the person or persons who committed thefts at two local day care centers.

According to social media post from the Brookfield PD, the thefts occurred this morning (December 5) when parents were dropping their children off at the currently unidentified day care centers in town. Apparently, as the parents went inside with their kids, vehicles were left unlocked, allowing for purses and other valuables to be stolen.

The Brookfield PD says that they strongly urge residents to "always lock your vehicles and secure valuables". They also note that this is the time of year that is more likely to attract thieves, due to the fact that the holiday season causes people to leave more valuable items in their cars than usual while they are in a hurry.

Anyone who may have information about the crimes is encouraged to contact the Brookfield Police headquarters at 203-775-2575.
