Besides White Castle, Connecticut Needs More Water Slides
What do we need more of here in Connecticut? Waterslides. You think we need another Casino? We have two of the largest in the whole world. Restaurants? We could use White Castle and Waffle House, but every other chain restaurant is already here. My vote is for waterslides.

Connecticut has almost 300 miles of shoreline, and an abundance of lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams, but waterslides? You have to go to one of three amusement parks to ride one of those in Connecticut, at least until Foxwood's Great Wolf Lodge opens up sometime in 2024.
Connecticut's largest waterpark overall is located in Bristol inside Lake Compounce. Compounce has a few water rides besides classic waterslides, including a lazy river, a thrill ride dubbed the Venus Vortex, a classic waterslide in the shape of a lighthouse called Storm Surge, and a big wave pool dubbed Bayou Bay.
Middlebury's Quassy Amusement Park has built up their Splash Away Bay Waterpark over the past few years. Multiple waterslides are now in use, including the Tunnel Twisters that you can see in the photo above, the Bullet Bowl is similar to Compounce's Vortex, the FreeFALL Extreme Bodyslides for the brave, and Quassy also has little slides for the kids located in Slide City.
Only one waterslide is located along the Connecticut shoreline, it's in New London's Ocean Beach Park at Action Amusements.
One other waterpark that I should mention is Brownstone Adventure Sports Park, it's located in Portland. Brownstone features a 50 foot waterslide, and there are plenty of water obstacles and ziplines to keep you occupied too.
