Police say the three-day operation brought together the Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and the Westchester/Putnam Real-Time Crime Center. The focus, according to authorities, was on auto theft, illegal firearms, drug activity, and other crimes. They reportedly used a mix of traffic stops, surveillance, and real-time tech like license plate readers to track people down.

And the numbers? Pretty wild.

Authorities say they conducted 849 traffic stops, handed out 273 tickets, and impounded 31 vehicles. Police say 45 people were arrested on various felony and misdemeanor charges, and eight fugitives were reportedly taken into custody. On top of that, authorities say they recovered 23 stolen vehicles—worth an estimated $800,000+—along with more than three kilograms of narcotics and at least one firearm.

As for the arrests, police say they ranged from alleged drug possession and distribution to reportedly using forged license plates, counterfeit cash, and even false impersonation. In one case, authorities say two individuals were found with roughly $10,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency and were held due to prior felony convictions. In another, police say a man was accused of stealing power tools from a business before allegedly trying to flee.

Several people were released after arraignment or issued appearance tickets, while others were reportedly remanded to jail depending on the severity of the charges.

Bottom line—authorities say this was a coordinated effort to crack down on multiple types of criminal activity all at once, and based on the numbers, they clearly made a dent.
