Connecticut’s Most Popular Coffee Chain and Home Brew Revealed
According to study results published by 4imprint, the way Connecticut runs on coffee might not be exactly what we all thought—and yeah, this one surprised me too.

Let’s start with the chain side of things, because that’s where the first curveball comes in. While the Northeast usually waves the Dunkin' flag like it’s a personality trait, Connecticut reportedly leaned the other way. The most searched coffee chain in the state? Starbucks.
I know. That feels… wrong. Like it should come with an asterisk. But according to the data, people in Connecticut are searching Starbucks more than anything else when it comes to grabbing coffee out of the house.
Now here’s where things get even more interesting—and honestly, way more Connecticut.

When you look at what people are buying in the store, the favorite isn’t some trendy brand or even the big national names. It’s Eight O’Clock Coffee.
That’s peak Connecticut energy right there. Not flashy, not new, just quietly dependable. The kind of coffee that’s been sitting in kitchen cabinets forever and somehow still gets the job done better than half the newer stuff.
Tri-State Coffee Favorites (At Home)
Zooming out to our neighbors, the tri-state area has a little more variety when it comes to grocery store coffee:
- Connecticut: Eight O’Clock Coffee
- New York: Café Bustelo
- New Jersey: Folgers
So, while Connecticut is sticking with a classic, New York is going bold and strong, and New Jersey is keeping it old-school with a brand that’s basically been around forever.
Across the country, Folgers actually comes out on top overall for at-home coffee, while Starbucks dominates most states when it comes to chains. But Connecticut kind of splits the difference—going big-name with Starbucks on the go, and keeping it low-key and traditional at home.
And honestly, that feels about right.
We’ll argue all day about where to get coffee, but when it comes to what’s in the cabinet? Connecticut keeps it simple, sticks with what works, and doesn’t feel the need to make a big deal about it. I personally like Bustelo in the home and Dunkin' on the road, but I happen to be a very dope human being. I'm just a little bit more refined and intelligent than your average numb nuts.
