A Connecticut Town is One of the Hottest Zip Codes in the U.S. for 2024
Man oh man is the housing market crazy lately. I really feel for everyone that is trying to buy a house right now. I have a lot of people in my life that are actively in the home buying process and it's currently not a fun place to be.
High house prices, high interest rates, the demand being through the roof, it's a lot of pressure for buyers. It's pretty rare to find a good deal on a house nowadays and especially where we are located. Everything just seems astronomically more expensive in Connecticut.
Realtor.com just recently came out with a list of the Hottest Zip Codes for 2024 and a Connecticut town landed pretty high on that list. They took into account market demand and pace of the market measured by the number of days a listing was active. These are places that also have high demands from buyers.
While no Connecticut towns made the top 10, one town slotted not too far away from it. Trumbull came in at number 16 on the top 50 list. Their median days on the market was 25 days and their median listing price was $596,000. While that was not the highest median price, it was one of the larger ones, which is no surprise.
A few other Connecticut towns made the list, too. Southington came in at 24 with 29 median days on the market and a median price of $493,000. Torrington came in at 34 with 30 median days on the market and a median price of $271,000. And lastly, Naugatuck entered that list at number 42 with 29 median days on the market and a median housing price of $328,000.
Torrington's price was the lowest for Connecticut that landed on this list. That's good to know. If you're looking to buy some property, maybe check there. The number one hottest zip code was a town called Gahanna in the Columbus, Ohio metro area with 11 median days on the market and a median listing price of $345,000.
