Carmel Folks Rally Around Family to Grant 42-Year-Old’s Final Wish
All that Ron Casey Jr. asked for as he reached the end of his life was that his two boys be loved and not want for anything.
On March 8, at the age of 42, Ron passed away surrounded by his family. The Carmel community lovingly made sure his dying wish would come true by pitching in $70,000 for his GoFundMe campaign.
Ron just wanted to make sure his two boys, Colin and Henry would be taken care of and have the financial support they'll need to take advantage of life's opportunities that he won't be able to provide. This sad heartwarming story is told in the Putnam Daily Voice. For 8 years, Ron fought a difficult battle with cancer with nothing but grace and dignity, and all he wanted before he lost that battle was to provide for his two most important treasures, his two sons.
With so many trials and tribulations going on around the world, to think that so many members of the town of Carmel pitched in to help Ron's kids lead a better life tells me there is still hope and good in the world. From all of us here at i95, you rock, Carmel!
