For the second year in a row, public pandemic restrictions have made the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Waterbury's annual Greek Festival impossible to pull off. The 2020 event was just too soon after the pandemic began.

This year, I thought maybe they had a chance to do a socially distant event? But, no. Connecticut is going to relax the public gathering restrictions on events later on in May. Holy Trinity Church however, isn't going to let us go hungry for yet another Mother's Day Weekend. Just like they've done a few times throughout the past year, they're going to hold a drive-thru Greek food event, but this time, it's a big two day event on Mother's Day weekend -- Friday and Saturday, May 7 & 8, 2021.

Unlike the previous drive-thru events that Holy Trinity has held over the past year, the menu has been expanded for the two day Mother's Day Weekend. Everyone's favorite, the Gyro is front and center, but the chefs are also offering a Lamb Shank, 1/2 Chicken-Greek Style, Moussaka, Pastitsio, Greek Salad, Spanakopita, Tiropita, Baklava, and for desserts - Loukoumades, and Galaktoboureko.

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is located at 937 Chase Parkway in Waterbury. The Mother's Day Greek Food To-Go Drive-Thru event is pre-order only. I hope they can get this supply chain fixed because at the past couple of events that I bought food, there were quite a few people getting turned away when they unknowingly got in line.
