The best thing about living in Downtown Danbury is the many events we can attend without getting in a car.

We attended one of those events on Saturday (10/28/23) so our daugter could celebrate Halloween with her peers and it was way cooler than I thought it would be. The event was free, the children got candy and there was a dance party breaking out all over the lawn.

I wanted to capture pictures of everyone in attendance and share them here but I found a more efficient way to show off the massive crowd. There was a Halloween parade during the event where all the kids and their parents lined up and walked around the neighborhood. I set up camp at the beggning of the parade and got video of everyone in their costumes.

There is nothing uncomfortable about taking video of complete strangers. Nah, my job is super normal and never awkward.

Keep your eye out for my camera again tonight as I'll be on Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury taking more photos and videos of the Halloween festivities.

P.S. Just wanted to give a shout out to City Center Danbury for putting together such a nice event for the kids of the Hat City. Planning large-scale events like that for so many people on a nothing budget is not easy and they should be commended. Way to go Laz!

Haunting in the Hat City - Halloween IS Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury

The Halloween experience in Danbury, CT is all about Deer Hill Avenue. The police close off the street, the homeowners go to great length to decorate their homes and thousands of trick-or-treaters line the street each year in search of candy. Despite some rain, 2022 appeared to be another successful Halloween on DHA. My wife Erica and I brought our daughter Vida (zombie) to enjoy the spooky experience.
