According to Yahoo, the Transportation Security Administration may have accidentally launched the weirdest travel challenge of 2026: seeing how many rotisserie chickens you can cram into a carry-on bag before boarding a flight.

This whole thing started after the TSA posted on social media reminding travelers that protein shakes are still stuck under the ancient and endlessly confusing 3.4-ounce liquid rule. You know, the rule that has been ruining airport mornings for two decades now. Somehow we’ve all accepted that a slightly oversized shampoo bottle is a national security threat, but apparently you can walk through airport security carrying enough roasted poultry to feed a Little League banquet.

The TSA’s exact point was basically this: protein shakes over 3.4 ounces? Nope. Rotisserie chickens? Go nuts. Bring as many as you can physically fit in your carry-on.

Naturally, the internet treated this like the opening bell at the Kentucky Derby.

People immediately started posting photos, memes and AI-generated images of travelers stuffed into middle seats next to mountains of Costco chickens. One commenter joked about hollowing out chickens and filling them with protein shakes like some kind of gym-rat Thanksgiving turkey. Another said real professionals marinate the chickens in protein shakes beforehand to beat the system entirely.

Honestly, this feels like something that could absolutely happen at Bradley International Airport. You just know there’s at least one Connecticut dad already plotting a “how many Stop & Shop chickens can I get through TSA?” experiment before a flight to Florida.

The funniest part is that the TSA actually has a “What Can I Bring?” search tool online, and some of the approved items are completely unhinged. According to the agency, you can travel with whole watermelons, live lobsters in sealed containers, live fish in water, entire pies and cakes, bowling balls and even cremated remains if they’re in a screenable container.

So just to recap modern air travel in America: your bottled smoothie is suspicious, but a suitcase full of steaming rotisserie chickens is apparently living the American dream.
