Connecticut’s Least Favorite State Revealed on New Map and It’s Probably No Surprise
According to a recent map release on Instagram, every state in America apparently has a least favorite state. And if you're from Connecticut, you might have a pretty good idea which one we supposedly don't like.

According to this very serious-looking map, Connecticut's least favorite state is New Jersey. Honestly, I don't think anyone in Connecticut is going to lose sleep over that. The map claims the entire New England region has some sort of beef with New Jersey, which makes sense when you consider the endless arguments over traffic, beaches, pizza and whose state is actually better.
New York also gets involved in the interstate hatred, although apparently Pennsylvania has New York near the top of its list of least favorite neighbors. New York, meanwhile, is part of a larger group of states that seem to have issues with other states simply because they're nearby. Apparently, that's how this works: live close enough to someone and eventually you start hating them.
New Jersey is where things get really interesting, though. The map claims New Jersey's own least favorite state is... New Jersey. That's right. New Jersey apparently hates New Jersey. And honestly, that might be the most believable part of this entire thing.
The map also claims California has the most enemies, with 11 states supposedly listing it as their least favorite. Florida comes in second with seven. There are also the predictable rivalries like North Carolina and South Carolina, North Dakota and South Dakota, and Virginia and West Virginia.
There are plenty of other regional grudges, including Wisconsin and Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska, and Mississippi and Alabama.
Now, there's just one tiny problem with all of this: How exactly do we verify where this was studied? I have no idea. It's an Instagram map, so there's a very real possibility somebody completely made this up.
But I'm willing to overlook that because I absolutely love the concept—and the fact that New Jersey apparently hates New Jersey is fantastic.
