The Torrington Police Department has announced that they have made an additional arrest and filed charges against a female city resident after she allegedly hindered their investigation into a horrible accident that occurred on New Litchfield Street in August 2020, in which two cars that had been racing, crashed, and that accident took the life of 47 year old Watertown resident Sean Ryan.

According to a press release from the Torrington Police Department, Amber Sans, 23, of Avenue A in Torrington was placed under arrest yesterday, March 11 and charged with lying about her involvement with the suspect during the investigation of fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred last year.

Sans is reported to be a past girlfriend of the suspect in the fatal motor vehicle accident, Rolando Vilorio, who has been arrested and is suspected to have been the operator of the vehicle that struck and killed Ryan.

Sans was questioned by Torrington PD immediately following the accident, and at the time, she denied having any recent contact with Vilorio. Sans eventually confessed and has been charged with hindering prosecution and interfering with police. Sans has been held on a $50,000 bond and will appear in court today, Friday March 12, 2021.
