Yesterday, (3/11/21) The Danbury Police Department announced the arrest of a Brookfield man, Christopher Rosini. Police say Rosini is facing a variety of drug charges and a search of his residence turned up heroin/fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

Danbury Mayor Joe Cavo joined the Ethan and Lou Morning Show just hours after the arrest announcement. We mentioned the drug bust to the Mayor and asked what the Hat City does to deal proactively with the opioid crisis. Cavo had this to say:

"I mean, our Police Department works continuously on subjects like this. If you noticed, this gentleman was reported to us with the help of the public which is just such a huge part of how we battle these things. You know, if you see something, you need to say something.

So, this gentleman was captured because of an investigation that was started by resident complaints about so peculiar behavior. So, our P.D. jumps right on those things, started investigating the case and you know did their observations enough to where they thought they could issue and arrest warrant and then they got this guy off the street.

That's pretty much how we do it, everyday, it's investigation, it's arrest. You know, the issue for me is, I think most people will tell you the frustration is, you know our court systems, people let people out way too soon, way too easy, way too early.

Sometimes, there is not enough punishment to fit the crime. They are talking about that somewhere on the state level. They are talking about forgiving crimes and you know, I just don't think that's a good system. I just think if you commit a crime, you should do the time."
