Tik Tokers Agree That Silver Sands is the Best Beach in CT

Every year there is some online debate as to whether there are any good beaches in CT. We just don't have a great beach rep in the Nutmeg State.

I personally love Ocean Beach Park in New London but outside of that, I'm not a fan of CT beaches. They are either rocky, boring or extremely exclusionary. So, when I searched CT beaches on TikTok, I was not expecting much. My gut was right, the results were underwhelming.

But if you just look at these search results, you'll find multiple videos where users say the best/one of the best beaches in CT is Silver Sands in Milford. There is this one where @kaykayblondiee said Silver Sands is the best place to see a sunset in CT.

@bonjouregalore recommends Silver Sands for anyone who wants a spacious beach with a boardwalk.

Then, @asseenbysb touted Silver Sands as a "gorgeous" place with 297 acres of beach free to CT residents.

There were other beaches that got some love like Hammonasett in Madison, CT. @cjventures called it the best beach in CT.

But beyond that, CT took a beating for not being great at beaches. @thectfamily was "sentenced" to a summer at CT beaches and did not take it well.

I've been spending a lot of time this year trying to crack the code, where to go in CT to give my family the summer they deserve and time and again, the answer is clear, leave CT. This is not an unfair, unprovoked attack on the Constitution State. I love living here for many reasons, but summer in CT leaves a lot to be desired if you don't have a boat on Candlewood Lake (I don't).

Recently, I found a Youtube video that gives a visual tour of a decommissioned missile sit in CT, located in both Portland & Glastonbury, CT in the Meshomasic State Forest. The video was posted by “Adventures in Melancholy” and the host does a great job of explaining exactly what we are looking at.
