The Danbury Mall Will Soon Be a Bowling and Amusement Destination
On Thursday (6/29/23) we learned a new bowling & entertainment complex is seeking a liquor license according to the Patch.
The article states:
Round1 Bowling & Amusement, which offers bowling, arcade games, billiards, karaoke, ping pong, darts and similar activities and will be moving into the Danbury Fair Mall, is seeking a permit to sell whiskey and mixed drinks alongside its burgers and wings. The company has submitted its pub food menu and drinks list to city’s Zoning Commission, which has scheduled a public hearing for the liquor permit on July 11.
We asked Danbury Mayor Dean Esposito about this upcoming addition to the Hat City and he had this to say:
"Yeah Round 1 Bowling and Amusement, we've been talking about that for awhile and I guess it's coming to fruition now. But it seems to be like it's going to be pretty entertaining, they've got everything billiards, bowling and an arcade. You know, you guys were talking about it earlier Dave & Busters, it seems like that type of scenario to me. I think it's going to be an asset for the mall, a draw over at the Danbury Mall which is doing pretty good. You know Target is coming in there in the next year or so which is a big draw is my understanding. This type of thing, they're looking to get a liquor permit so that has to go through Zoning but you know I think that would be after hours when the kids leave hopefully but that sounds like it's gonna be a good deal."
This place does seem like a good time and it adds to a wide array of activities already available in the Hat City. Round 1 will have:
- Bowling
- Billiards
- Karaoke
- Ping Pong
- Darts
- Arcade
The entertainment destination will be located in the former Forever 21 space and has 60,000 square feet to work with.
