Whether it's the pressure of work deadlines, the weight of inflation, or doom-scrolling, it seems like there's always something causing us to feel a little on edge. But it turns out, there's one more thing on many people's minds—the future of the nation.

In fact, according to a new study from WalletHub, 77% of adults say they're stressed about what's coming next for the country. But here’s the thing: Not everyone is stressed out the same way. Some states are more worried than others, and WalletHub's study breaks it all down to show which states are the most—and least—stressed. They looked at 40 key stress indicators, ranging from average work hours to bankruptcy rates and even how many adults are getting enough sleep.

Look, there are times when I read a study and just think, “Nah, that can’t be right.” If you live in Connecticut and you’re not stressed out, you might want to check in with a doctor. The pace of life we have here in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, and CT) is unlike anywhere else in the world. Trust me, I’ve traveled enough across this country to know that our drive, work ethic, and the expectations we place on ourselves are unmatched.

Now, don’t get me wrong—these are all generally great qualities. But they come with a price. Putting so much pressure on yourself, your family, and your work can build up and make you feel like a pressure cooker.

So, tell me—can you really look someone in the eye and say that West Virginia (#4 Most Stressed State, according to WalletHub) is more stressed out than Connecticut (#42)? Sometimes, the data doesn’t quite line up with reality.
