I understand why you've made the move to Florida, but...

For those of you who have successfully changed your residence to the sunshine state, I'm happy for you, really I am. Here's what I'm not happy about. I don't need to see pics of your manicured feet surrounded by beach sand on a semi-regular basis.

I understand it's toasty warm and that you love your favorite beach chair. I am also aware that you absolutely hate the frigid weather and you enjoy the fact that Florida has no state income tax. As the cold weather descends upon New England why is it you Floridians feel the need to gloat about it?

I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of our Connecticut winters but what I do love about living in New England is the change of seasons and the unique aromas that each of those seasons' deliver like spring lilacs, campfire smoke, fresh-cut green grass, and the smell of balsam fir. Don't even get me started with the beauty and charm of a New England fall.

You can have your hot humid weather, hurricanes, alligators, sharks, and theme parks. I'll put up with our five months of cold weather in exchange for the picturesque charm and the change of seasons here in New England.
