Connecticut State Troopers are reportedly involved in a standoff situation in Southbury with a person they believe may be armed.

The CT state police say they have been on the scene on Purchase Brook Road since responding to an overnight distubance at around 2:00 this morning (May 21).

It's been reported that the troopers made contact with the unidentified person initially, but the suspect refuses to leave the home. No injuries have been reported, however troopers say that he or she may be in possession of a firearm.

The CT state police's emergency services are reportedly in the area and are able to communicate with the suspect, and believe that there is no immediate threat to the public.

The roads surrounding the area have been closed, and police say the detours will continue until the situation is resolved.

This is a developing story, and we'll continue to update as information rolls in.
