Pack your bags, baby. A money saving airline is moving into Connecticut.

I'm a long time Southwest Airlines flyer. Mostly because I pack for a long weekend like I'm going away for a month! Hey, a girl needs choices in her clothing, shoes, and accessories. The fact that I can check two bags for free, and also carry on two more bags is a huge plus for me with Southwest.

But I'm also someone who loves to save money, so a change is on my radar.

The Hartford Courant  is reporting that Spirit Airlines is coming to Connecticut, and my god the deals. Paul Berry, Spirit's director of communications told the Hartford Courant:

On April 27, the consumers of this area are going to be shocked and surprised on how much money they can save by flying Spirit

It's reported in the story from courant.com that Spirit's average, one-way flight is 50 bucks, with the lowest fare starting at 34 dollars, including taxes and fees.

The mega low cost airline is launching service from Bradley International Airport to a bunch of destinations this spring. They include nonstop service to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Myrtle Beach. Bradley International in Windsor Locks Connecticut will be the 60th airport serviced by Spirit when they take to the skies at the end of April.

Of course the major way that Spirit keeps ticket prices low is that you pay extra for most everything else, kind of like an ala carte menu. So yes, all those bags I like to bring with me will add to my ticket cost. But for those prices I'm thinking I'll learn how to pack light.
