I'm not taking sides on this issue. I would like to find out which side of the assault weapon issue you're on.

It is no surprise that most Republicans say no, they shouldn't be banned while most Democrats say yes, they should be banned.

Republican Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, who once supported the ban on assault weapons, has changed his mind. When asked why he changed his tune, this is what he said on CBS This Morning, "I changed positions because we need protection in this country, so if the bad guys have them, we need protection."

New York City Police Commissioner, Bill Bratton told Morning Joe that Republicans put the interests of their own political careers and that of the NRA ahead of the American people. According to the website thehill.com, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina told CNN that a potential ban on assault weapons was "ridiculous" saying it would do nothing to protect the U.S. from radical Islam.

CBS News released a poll last Wednesday which revealed that 57% of Americans support the ban on assault weapons while 78% of Democrats and, get this, 45% of Republicans also support the ban.

On June 16, the Boston Globe posted an editorial titled, "MAKE IT STOP." According to the Globe, since the assault weapon ban expired in 2004 there have been 47 mass shootings, 411 people killed, and 0 attempts to reinstate the ban.

Here's my question to anyone reading this blog, "Are you for or against the banning of assault weapons?"
