Sherman, CT Woman to Snorkel the Arctic to Prove That Climate Change Is Real

30-year-old Breezy Grenier from Sherman is an ocean scientist who claims the Arctic is melting, and she's going to prove it.

Grenier and a group of women have plans to snorkel the Northwest Passage in 2020 as part of the Sedna Epic Expedition to prove that climate change is not fake news, and to empower women and girls.

The story is fascinating, as Grenier, along with 11 other seawomen, will be snorkeling 1,900 miles through the Northwest Passage in 2020, attempting to build connections with the Inuit people who have called the Arctic their home for centuries.

Geology.com. describes the Northwest Passage as a sea route that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans by way of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Between 1979 and 2017, the Arctic sea ice has been disappearing because of a warming trend.

An article in the NewsTimes explains the U.S Army Corps of Engineers have plans to evacuate 100,000 people in the Arctic because their communities will soon be under water because their land is eroding as the sea ice disappears.
