According to a new report from PR Newswire, if you were looking to pick the absolute worst day to be on the road this holiday season, congratulations — it’s tomorrow, December 23rd.

Yep, tomorrow is being flagged as the most dangerous day of the month to drive. And it’s not necessarily because we’re guaranteed some massive winter storm (although that would really put it over the top). It’s because the roads are about to be packed with distracted, stressed-out, last-minute, caffeine-powered holiday drivers.

Which, if you live in Connecticut, feels extremely on brand.

Between people squeezing in “just one more errand,” rushing to finish work before time off, driving to family gatherings, and refusing to properly defog their windows, the chaos adds up fast. Throw in early sunsets, cold temps, and the possibility of icy patches, and suddenly a simple drive feels like a competitive sport.

The report, which pulls data from Nationwide, says December 23rd consistently stands out because traffic volume spikes while driver focus drops. Everyone’s in a hurry. No one has patience. And whatever holiday cheer exists somehow disappears the second someone misses a green light.

Now here’s the part that actually surprised me.

Another section of the report ranked states by driver behavior, breaking them into a “naughty” and “nice” list — and Connecticut landed on the nice side. I know. I was shocked too. Statistically speaking, we’re apparently not total maniacs behind the wheel, even if it doesn’t always feel that way on I-95 or Route I-84.

We didn’t crack the top five, but we’re holding our own — and honestly, I’ll take that.

So, as we head into what is basically the Super Bowl of holiday driving, maybe take this as your sign to slow down, leave early, and assume everyone around you is one bad decision away from total chaos. Especially tomorrow.

Here’s how the states stacked up:

Naughty List: States With the Meanest Drivers
New York
California
New Jersey
Texas
Massachusetts
Nevada
Georgia
Florida
Louisiana
Illinois

Nice List: States With the Nicest Drivers
Hawaii
Oregon
Iowa
Minnesota
Tennessee
Connecticut
Kansas
Missouri
New Hampshire
North Carolina

Drive safe, Connecticut. And if you spot a New York plate tomorrow… maybe just give them a little extra room.

5 Underrated Christmas Movies Your Family Has Probably Never Seen Before

We all know that selecting a movie for a group of people is not easy and that is how you found yourself here, asking advice from an angry radio personality. On paper, I’m not fit to make decisions for myself, let alone an entire group of strangers. But, you are in the right place because to quote Dwight Schrute “I know everything about film, I’ve seen over 240 of them.”

You’ve found yourself at a common roadblock, one or more of your family members have decided they want to watch a movie they’ve never seen before. You suggested “Elf” and someone said, “not again”, you said we can watch “Home Alone” and someone groaned “nooooo.”

What Christmas movie can you watch that you’ve never seen before? These are 5 Underrated Christmas Movies Your Family Has Probably Never Seen.

Unique Christmas Tree Decorations From All Over the Greater-Danbury Area

Every year, I battle with my wife Erica over the Christmas tree. Is it straight? Why is this section not as full as this one? Do you really need an ax to put up a fake tree? You know, these are normal decoration discussions. When we are done, we have a hastily prepared Christmas tree in our living room. It's never the best, it's never the worst and we find ourselves with the baseline requirements for the holiday. Decorating for the holidays is not our thing but some people go above and beyond, both in, and out of their home. In years past I have written about the amazing Christmas light displays around Danbury. This year, I wanted to take a peak inside people's homes. I asked our readers to please send me a photo of their holiday trees. What I got back was a beautiful and diverse array of Christmas trees. These are some of the submissions we got from Danbury, Ridgefield, Sherman, Brewster, Mahopac and beyond.
