It seems to be the talk of the year - many corporate chains continue to close their doors due to underperforming stores. It feels like we're reporting store closings more regularly than store openings and that is just a huge bummer.

Your morning routine to get your famous slushies may be affected now as 7-Eleven announced that they have plans to close more than 400 of their underperforming stores across North America. They currently have over 13,000 stores within the U.S. and Canada, so they stated that the locations that weren't producing at the rate that they needed were going to see their doors shut.

A spokesperson from the brand spoke with CBS about their decisions in shutting down locations, but did not say which locations would actually be shutting down just yet. On the bright side, though, they did state that even though they will be closing some locations that don't necessarily see the growth that they need, they plan to open more locations in areas they see fit.

7-Eleven is a staple around our country. Anytime you need something and you come across a 7-Eleven, you're in luck. They also have their famous day on July 11 where you're able to get your free slushy.

After looking at the 7-Eleven store locator, it looks like Connecticut has around 40 different store locations. They are blanketed around our state which makes me wonder which of our locations, if any, will be shutting down. I guess this is just another question mark for the future where we wait and see. Usually when one convenience store closes, another will open, but 7-Eleven is always a trusted brand.
