Police Expand Search to Danbury in Case of Deceased Infant
On October 16th we reported that a newborn baby boy was found dead at a recycling facility at Taylor Reed Place in Stamford, CT.
A press release issued by the Stamford Police Department said that the State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still processing forensic analysis and so far has determined that the child is either white or hispanic. An autopsy could not determine whether the baby was stillborn or if he died after birth.
City Carting is a recycling transfer station that receives materials from several areas for processing. Investigators have determined that the child did not come from Nassau County, NY or Andover, MA. Their search has been narrowed to a company that serves Westchester County, Ridgefield, Danbury, Stamford, Westport, and Norwalk. Police say that on the morning that the baby boy was found, most of the material processing at City Carting had come from commercial properties/dumpters.
Anyone with any information about this case is asked to please call Stamford Police Department Major Crimes at 203-977-4420. Calls will be kept strictly confidential.
