New Milford Church Introduces Their ‘Manna From Heaven’ Program With Local Restaurants
This church's congregation has gone above and beyond the call by raising $20,000 for those in need.
Pastor Frank Santora from 'Faith Church' in New Milford wanted to make sure that those in need during these difficult times were taken care of by the church. Together, the congregation has pledged and set up a $20,000 fund to distribute up to 250 prepared meals.
Each week a participating a local restaurant will set up a drive-thru on Wednesdays in April and May from 4 pm to 6 pm at Faith Church, 600 Danbury Rd. (Rt. 7) in New Milford. Prepared meals will be distributed to those in need without having to infringe on social distancing regulations.
Costumed characters will also be on hand to provide a surprise chocolate Easter treat for the kids. Jobs have been lost and times have been tough for many area residents. The 250 meals will be distributed beginning at 4 pm on Wednesday, April 8th at Faith Church until their supply is depleted.
Because the meals are being paid for by the congregation, the participating restaurants are also receiving a bump in business during these difficult economical times.
