New England-Inspired Sandwich Shop Named Best in Connecticut
I'm always looking for elite sandwich shops. You can't go wrong.
There are always times in your life where you're craving a good sandwich and you need to lean on what's around you. I've grown way past the corporate chains and rely on independent businesses when it comes to making my food choices.
The website Delish came out with a list of the best sandwich shops in each state and the shop considered Connecticut's best is a local staple with New England-inspired foods. The sandwich shop is called The Dilly Duck Shop and its located in Norwalk.
I've personally never heard of this, but I'm assuming its not only a local favorite but maybe a statewide favorite, too. I looked into the restaurant to see what they were all about. The Dilly Duck Shop has been around since 2017. They make everything right from their kitchen including their house rotisserie roasted meats, fresh salads, soups, bakery treats and much more. Their kitchen is inspired by the craft and cuisine of New England.
Their menu has a variety of things including breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches, salads, soups, entrees, pasta, etc. Since they were highlighted as best sandwich shop, I took a look through to see if there were any really unique sandwiches on their menu.
While they don't have an extensive menu of sandwiches, they all sound pretty spectacular. They have rotisserie roasted beef or pork, pesto chicken, salmon, tuna, a caprese and a few more. I headed over to their Instagram page to see that they also have a bunch of specials that they regularly offer. (Side note, whoever runs their Instagram deserves a raise)
Lists like these make me happy because I'm able to discover completely new places that I've never heard of. If you plan on visiting The Dilly Duck Shop, they are located at 666 Main Ave in Norwalk and they are open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 to 3:30.
