My case can be picked apart in a million different ways and I know you all will. In it's simplest form, I think our Governor (CT Governor Ned Lamont) defers to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo and has since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.

I think the conversation between Ethan and I stalled due to political affiliation. I think it will hit the same bump when all of you discuss it. This is not a Republican versus Democrat issue, in my opinion, that's what Ethan did not want to hear or was not connecting with.

This is not a question of whether the plan for restrictions on out of state travelers coming to the "Tri-State" is right or wrong. This is a question of whether we believe that  bordering states forming a political/ideological alliances is OK for the future, especially with the increase in power we've seen come from these executive powers the Governors are getting due to crisis.

Having our leaders agree on things, in theory, is not a problem, it could be good, but we can't have one Governor bow to the other.

Your responses will be:

  • You don't know what you are talking about
  • You are a snowflake
  • You need to do your research, increased testing means increased positive test results
  • How are you a journalist?
  • Trump is the problem

If you answered any of the above, you didn't read any of what I wrote with an open mind or did not read it at all. Complex problems require complex thinking and a group effort to solve them. We the people, all need to start thinking about how our State and Federal leadership continues to fail us on a daily basis rather than defending "our side."

In this specific case, I think we need to address that we are allowing a team of Governor's in the Northeast to form an informal alliance that we may not be able to come back from. It's not for them to decide to make decisions for their respective constituents as a council and it needs to be noted.
