Brookfield' s JJ Stacks to Host Drive-in Movie Event on October 1

The place has everything I want out of a restaurant, like burgers fries, adult beverages and an activity my whole family likes, mini-golf. I've written about and talked about JJ Stacks plenty in the past, and for good reason. The owner Joe Attonito gets it and his most recent promotion highlights that.

On October 1, 2021, JJ Stacks will have a drive-in movie event at 537 Federal Road, screening one of the greatest films of all-time, The Goonies. The movie will start at 7:45 and tickets are on sale now through the JJ Stacks Facebook page or at eventbrite. The Stacks family is asking that you order your meals before the movie begins so the kitchen doesn't get slammed all at once.

The Goonies is one of those movies that I made my kids watch and I wasn't going to stop playing it until they loved it. It taps into a sense of adventure that every child can appreciate, whether you are a 12-year-old kid or a 42-year-old kid. If I was going to pick a movie that most accurately represents the spirit of JJ Stacks, The Goonies would be it.

Joe Attonito and I are buddies going back some years now, so I texted him last night when I saw the event listed. I wrote, "You're doing a drive-in movie night? Brilliant." Attonito replied:

"Yeah Man, also a 10 year old got a hole in one on 7 today."

OH!!!!!!! GOOOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Attonito was breaking my chops you see, because I declared that the 7th hole at JJ Stacks mini-golf course was impossible in a recent article. Like a tough guy, he's been making up 10 year old children who've gotten a hole in one on 7, ever since.

There are not even enough 10 year olds in Brookfield to get the amount of hole in ones that this guy is claiming. That's fine though, because I will eventually slay the beast known as "7th Hell.".

Inside the Premier Party for the Danbury Trashers Netflix Documentary

My name is Lou Milano, I am the co-host of the Ethan and Lou Morning Show on I-95. Recently, I attended the local premier of the Netflix film "Untold: Crime & Penalties" about the Danbury Trashers. The Trashers were a United Hockey League team that were around for a short time in the 2000' s in Western, CT but the team and ownership left a lasting impact.

The premier was open to the public and would take place inside the building where the Trashers played hockey, the Danbury Ice Arena. I decided to watch the movie at my house before going to the event. I wanted to use the time at the arena to interview the people in the film, and give an inside look into the night. This was my night out, with the cast of the film and the Trashers.

In 1970, Two Men Robbed a Danbury Bank + Blew Up the Police Station

The story of the Pardue brothers, their connection to Danbury and what happened in the Hat City in February of 1970 came to us from Mike Allen. Every Tuesday Mike joins the Ethan and Lou Show on I-95 for a feature called "The Place You Live" and this week it was a local story unlike any I'd ever heard.

John Pardue was a 27-year-old man in 1970 who lived in Danbury, his brother James was 23, and living in Lusby, MD. Before the story finds its way to the Hat City, and the brothers rob the Union Savings Bank on Main Street, they had already racked up quite the list of astonishing crimes.

Prior to Danbury, they robbed banks in Lewisboro, NY, Georgetown, CT and Union, MO. They also killed their father, their grandmother, two other men who helped them pull off the robbery in Georgetown, CT and had, at minimum, a role in the death of an innocent Bridgeport man that they stole a car from. John and James Pardue were hardened criminals before their Danbury bank robbery.
