For 75 years, this Missouri school was known for the education of young people. As it now sits abandoned for 40 years, it will sadly be known for something else. It was the scene of 4 senseless murders - with a hammer.

This is what's left of the Carr School in St. Louis. It was built in 1908 and was closed in 1983. It educated kids from kindergarten through the 6th grade for decades before the doors were closed. An urban explorer recently dared to go inside to see what the school looks like now and its nightmare fuel.

The horrific vibe inside of these walls must be connected to a vicious attack that was carried out by Edward Moore who was convicted in 2018 of killing 4 homeless people who he found sleeping, then proceeded to murder them with a hammer as reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Riverfront Times.

As Built St. Louis mentions, the ruins of Carr School sits at the corner of Carr and 15th Street in St. Louis. Despite the history that lives within these walls, they call it a "catastrophic state of disrepair" and that looks about right. One that will now always be associated with tragedy and murder now, too.
