Global terrorism, domestic terrorism, death and destruction. The news is downright depressing. Every once in a while, you need a pick-me-up. What better way than to watch people fall down? 

The show-off fail is the mother of all fails. You want to display your ability to hold your girlfriend over your head while you surf on a wave? BAM! Instant Karma. You wanna demonstrate on camera what you learned in pole dancing class? BOOM! You land on your head. You wanna play with fire? Oops, your leg just burst into flames. Yeah, America's Funniest Home Videos may have been the trend setter, but, thanks to the internet, we get even better content, and we don't have to listen to Tom Bergeron.

Knocking yourself unconscious with a garage door takes it's own kind of special skill, but the real geniuses are the ones who videotape it, and share it with the rest of us.

It's taken years for me to learn my lesson, but, I can tell you with some certainty that showing off leads to bad, bad things. The words, "Hey guys, check this out." NEVER end well. So the next time you get the bright idea to ghost ride a Jeep, or surf on your kids Barbie car downhill, just think of these poor souls. The ones who sacrificed oh so much to teach us about the fragility of the human body and the human ego. They would want you to remember that a chipped tooth is never a good look. Especially when there is a funny story and video attached to it.
