An overturned tractor trailer had traffic snarled for miles on Interstate 84 on Friday morning as fire, police and emergency medical personnel were called to the scene.

Newstimes.com reports that the truck spilled fluid onto the highway which had crews from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection mopping up the mess on the roadway.

It happened at about 7:30 this morning in the eastbound lanes right near exit 4 and the road was closed for hours. This is the stretch of the highway which is right before Route 7.

You would think that since the truck was cleared from the roadway and normal traffic flow returned around 11:00 this morning that any traffic problems would be long gone.

Nope!

Interstate 84 is now open, but just in time for your Friday night commute, highway repair crews will be shutting down the right lane late this afternoon to fix the guard rail. That's right, the right lane of I84 near exit 4 eastbound will be closed this afternoon for repairs adding to Friday evening traffic. Not a great way to start the weekend.
