This is another dumb internet "challenge" that became popular on Tik-Tok and they say you put the strawberry in salt water and worms or bugs come out. I did it and I do not know what I'm looking at.

What I can't figure out is am I looking for bugs/worms? Do I want to see them and if so are my eyes telling me they are there? At first glance you heard me saying there they are but after my wife shamed my judgement and eyes, I'm not so sure. Is it just the water paired with the salt pulling the small white seeds off the outside of the berry?

Since I don't know what's what here, I hit up the Google machine and found an article from CNN about it, in it they consulted entomologist Greg Loeb who had this to say about it:

If you're eating fresh produce, you're eating bugs, Sometimes we entomologists joke that, hey, it's just a little bit more protein.

So maybe there's something to it but my produce seemed to be lacking the bugs in question and leaves me wanting. I think I did want it to be worms in there because I'm not afraid to eat worms and I could have spent many years grossing my kids out with this. If I was sure it was worms, I'd do the experiment in front of them once, freak them out and then eat strawberry's in their little faces early and often.
