It's a rare and special thing when you can get a mainstream lead actor to appear at a public Q&A/screening of their film. There's something even more special than that happening in Connecticut.

The Star, Director, and Author of HBO's I Know This Much is True, are all appearing together at a public Q&A/screening. It gets better - Mark Ruffalo. He's one of my favorite actors.

Wally Lamb, a Connecticut treasure who wrote the novel, and Derek Cianfrance, the Director and Co-Writer of HBO's adaptation, will sit alongside three time Academy Award-Nominated Ruffalo during the three day event. It's happening at New London's Garde Arts Center. Each night, the Garde will show two of the six episodes, followed by a chat with the audience. Lamb will host the screenings and audience chat by himself Wednesday, September 21, 2022. For Thursday and Friday's events, Lamb will be joined by Ruffalo and Cianfrance.

I really love these types of live events, where you have the opportunity to ask questions of the artists. The Garde's is yet even more so unique because it's happening in the inspiration for the fictional Connecticut town, Three Rivers. The novel and film take place in Three Rivers, Connecticut, which according to Wikipedia, is the fictional town in which several of Lamb's novels are set, and is based on New London, Norwich, and Willimantic.

It's a brutal novel, and series, so be warned MCU fans, Ruffalo will absolutely not be down to sign your Hulk Hands.
